Kirdy laser driver

Sinara 1550 Laser Diode Driver Kirdy

The Sinara 1550 Kirdy is a precision laser diode driver which combines a low-noise current source (<200ns RMS 10Hz to 1 MHz, <300 pA/rt (Hz) density) and a temperature control with sub-mK stability. It is primarily designed for spectroscopy and other atomic physics applications.

  • 300mA max output current, 20-bit resolution, 4V compliance voltage
  • Low-frequency modulation input with 18 MHz bandwidth enabling servo control of optical frequency
  • High-frequency RF modulation injected directly into the diode
  • Soft turn-on, laser power monitoring with user-defined trip point, and overtemperature protection
  • Lasers in butterfly packages can be mounted directly to card with front-panel optic connector or control signals can be broken out to drive external laser heads
  • Firmware

Kirdy offers a convenient control interface via Python package and/or GUI control panel. It also supports Power-over-Ethernet.
